About

The Trauma Survivors Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Delaware. The Foundation seeks to improve the lives of families and children who have experienced a traumatic event by providing mental health services through a network of trained trauma therapists.  The Foundation grants scholarships to high school and college seniors seeking careers in the mental health field in order to promote further research into trauma psychology.  It also assists firefighters, police and EMS with scholarships to attend approved classes and trains emergency service personnel to provide crisis intervention when a traumatic event occurs.

The Trauma Survivors Foundation was established in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, driven not by inspiration, but by necessity. During his response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, Founder and CEO, Dennis Carradin, found several people, including first responders, who either did not have access to or information about mental health therapists who specialized in trauma therapy. After the initial crisis response, survivors of the devastating event were left to navigate mental health resources on their own. This led to some survivors giving up on accessing proper mental health care. His hope by forming the Trauma Survivors Foundation was to give survivors of trauma access to a network of trained trauma therapists to help restore a sense of normalcy and to gain hope.

Since its inception, the Foundation has evolved into an organization capable of rapid deployment across the nation in response to mass tragedies. Its primary goal is to support all those affected by trauma.TSF was established to address the unique mental health challenges faced by first responders, healthcare workers, and trauma survivors, providing them with tailored resources and tools to recover from traumatic events.
